CHRIS CARR TO PILOT THE BUB 'SEVEN' STREAMLINER FOR WORLD LAND SPEED RECORD AT BONNEVILLE.
Denis Manning, president and owner of BUB Racing and BUB Enterprises has announced that Chris Carr, 7-time AMA Grand National Champion, will be the new pilot of his Motorcycle Streamliner in an attempt to break the world motorcycle land speed record.
Manning has been involved in land speed racing for over 35 years and held the record back in 1970 with the Harley-Davison streamliner ridden by the late Cal Rayborn. Manning has been involved in a number of subsequent land speed record attempts however has yet to regain the title.
“Although this is a new venture for Carr, he is a true motorcycle racer. Like Cal Rayborn and other riders I’ve had in my streamliners, I know Carr will have no problem adapting to the streamliner, nor will have any problem going fast! We believe he can get the record for himself, and bring the record back to us”.
Carr will begin his trials at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah in June and July and will make the attempt for the world record, currently held by Dave Campos at 322.150mph, during the FIM sanctioned International Motorcycle Speed Trials by BUB in September, a meet promoted by Manning.
Both Manning and Carr are looking forward to the new challenge. More details will be released as it becomes available. Questions and requests for information should be directed to Denis Manning at BUB Racing in Grass Valley CA. Phone 530-272-4310
